8 Ways I stay organized to reach all my blogging goals

11 ways to say organized to reach your blogging goals

Staying organized as a blogger throughout the years has been a struggle for me especially as a new blogger! I adapted many strategies over the years within one that helped me eliminate writers block, stress and increase my overall productivity! You may feel like you have so many task to complete or that you need to start and while that maybe true, it’s irrelevant. You can’t do everything all at once, you need to work on one thing, complete that and move on to the next thing. When you decide to take your blog from hobby to business it will feel this way but try your best to set that aside and be as realistic as you can with achieving your current goals. One thing I experienced heavily as a blogger was stress and burn outs. I didn’t have a routine, foundation or any clear short term goals on how I was going to do this, I just piled tasks upon tasks until I didn’t have any energy to actually complete the task. In this blog we will talk about how to organize blog tasks to get more done!

The key to your blogging success lies within your routine, don’t ever overlook the importance of that. If you have a routine, you have consistency and if you have consistency you’ll have success.

If you’re looking to turn your blog into a business or just become for organized as a blogger then you’ve came to the right place! Here, I’ll give you 8 tips that will help you stay organized while creating so that you have the right balance of planning, creating and executing, we want you to actually COMPLETE these goals and not just write them down!

  1. ORGANIZE ALL BLOG TITLES/ IDEAS IN GOOGLE DOCS OR PAGES / JOURNAL

This may sound simple, and it is, but it’s also very powerful! When I get a random idea or burst of inspiration I go right into the Pages app on my iPhone or Google docs and write away. I could be home, in a Uber, at a restaurant, but I always write my ideas down, I can’t risk forgetting a great idea! I created documents for different categories that way all of my ideas are organized for a later date, it makes creating content that much easier because everything is mapped out.

2. ONLY START A NEW GOAL OR PROJECT ONCE ONE THING IS COMPLETED

Save yourself the stress! Don’t start new projects before you’ve completed the ones you're working on first. This creates confusion, overworking and feelings of exhaustion! If you know you want to stockpile on blogs, improve your seo, and set aside a day to work on your Pinterest, choose one thing to work on; on a specific day and maybe when your finished completing writing 5 blogs for your stockpile, the next thing you can move onto is dedicating 2-3 days to seo. Coordinating my work like this has helped me reduce lots of unnecessary stress and has increase my productivity because I focus on completing 1 task so I get more done! Plus you’re able to achieve more quickly by focusing on one task, that feeling of achievement comes faster and motives you to do more!

3. DIVIDE MARKETING, BLOG, SOCIAL MEDIA INTO SEPARATE DOCUMENTS IN PAGES OR GOOGLE DOCS

In addition to writing your ideas down for your blog, its even better to section them off into their own folders, that way you have clear direction on where you need to go for what your looking for in that moment when its finally time to sit down and create. See how I prepare mines below! If you have an iPhone you already have this app in your phone!

4. WRITE THE BODY OF THE BLOG AS IT COMES TO YOUR MIND WITHOUT OVER THINKING OR FULLY EDITING SAVING EDITING AND ADDING PHOTOS FOR LATER ONCE WRITING IS COMPLETE

Somedays, I don’t feel inspired to write, sometimes I don’t know what to write. Sometimes starting the blog is the hardest part. Ever go to write a blog because you do feel inspired in that moment and then when you go to type nothing comes out? I fixed that with simply writing. That’s literally it. Typing whatever comes to my head regarding the topic I chose to write about, even if it sounds “dumb”. You might find you had something to say after all. Don’t think about it too much, it will all flow!

5.USE A PLANNER TO PREP/ SCHEDULE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT!

This is something I just recently started doing, but I can tell it’s going to help me so much down the line! Last week I returned to blogging and I remembered just how exhausting managing multiple social media accounts can be. Currently I’m managing over 7 accounts so it absolutely starts to become a lot to keep up with, that being said I realized quickly that I would need a system! I grabbed my planner ( the one I haven’t used ALL year LOL) and filled in the boxes with what I’d post on Instagram for the next 2 weeks (end of the month) So I have content prepped from the 14th of July to the 30th! Here is the brand planner that I use, I finally found a planner that I LOVE! The boxes are large enough for me to write a full days work and it also has spaces for notes and stickers as well plus its high quality!

5. BLOCK OFF CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME AT THE SAME TIME OF THE DAY FOR BLOGGING. EX: 6PM-10PM

-What has helped me SIGNIFICANTLY is creating a routine/ schedule. Yes it may sound cliche but this isn’t your typical schedule. I created and follow what I call “blocks”. Between the hours of 9-4am I have a series of task I complete as well as between 4-6pm and lastly 6-1am. Ive been doing this for a few weeks now and I can truly say its been the best system I’ve come up with thus far. It’s a broad schedule with only 3 block times for you to remember and stay focused on what you should be doing at a particular time of the day. Incorporate your blog or biz into whatever block fits your needs and be sure to stick to it!

6. USE A WHITE BOARD-

-On white board write down today’s task for the day. (Maximum 3 tasks) I find that starting my day with 3 of my most important to-do’s helps me put my focus and time into what matters the most rather than over working on projects without any real structure. With my task visible on my board, I’m able to glance up from my desk to see what I’ve accomplished and what’s next! I highly recommend for content creators and entrepreneurs! I write on my board everyday multiple times a day I couldn’t live without it!!
